LEAH TORRES OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a sophomore from Kingwood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Co-Golfer of the Week for competition played from Monday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 7. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Torres posted a top-15 finish to lead St. Thomas at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational, finishing tied for 13th with a two-round total of 156 (+14). She fired rounds of 76 (+5) and 80 (+9) to help the Celts post a sixth-place team finish. Torres posted 23 total pars over the two rounds, tied for second most in the field. She finished the event tied for 13th with McMurry’s Katelyn Henslee, the top two SCAC finishers in the field.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran finished in a tie for 26th at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational to lead the way for the Bulldogs. Asbury fired rounds of 85 (+14) and 82 (+11) to finish with a two-round total of 167 (+25). Sophomore Jennifer Converse of Dallas, playing as an individual, finished 37th at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational after posting a two-round total of 184 (+42). Converse shot rounds of 96 (+25) and 88 (+17), highlighted by three birdies, tied for the eighth most among all competitors.
