The game was resumed from its stopping point the previous day when inclement weather and lightning forced the stoppage of play. Prior to play being suspended, St. Thomas bounced back from a 8-3 deficit with five runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game and had the bases loaded before lightning in the area forced both teams off the field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was resumed on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. after lightning in the Round Rock area forced both teams off the field the previous day and after St. Thomas had rallied from a five-run deficit in the top of the ninth to tie the game.
- When play resumed, Trinity's Trajan Lee, in relief of Jack Briese, struck out the Celts' Dylan Lamb with the bases loaded to thwart the previous day's threat.
- After Trinity was held scoreless in the its half of the ninth and both teams failed to plate a run in the 10th, St. Thomas pushed across an unearned run in the top of the 11th to take a 9-8 lead.
- In the bottom of the 11th, Kaleb Woodward sandwiched a single between a ground out and a fly out, and, after both Nicholas Lazzara and Max Milligan drew walks, Baker played the role of hero, driving in the tying and go-ahead runs on his double to left center.
