AMBER ALSUP OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a senior from Cabot, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, September 29 through Tuesday, September 30. SCAC Golf Release (Week 3)
Alsup secured her first individual medalist honors, firing a two-round total score of 164 (+20) to win the Scots Fall Invitational. She becomes the first female Warrior golfer in the modern era to win an individual title. Alsup helped Hendrix to a second-place team finish.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Haylee Crowder of Centenary posted a top-10 finish coming in seventh overall at the Scots Fall Invitational. She fired a 172 over the two-round tournament finishing the event with an 83 (+11) in the final round with a pair of birdies. Sophomore Emerson Swanner of LeTourneau finished with a 155 (+13) giving her the first top-5 tournament finish of her career, along with her fourth top-10 finish. First-year Katelyn Henslee of McMurry led the War Hawks at the Texas Legends Cup shooting a 167 (+23) including a 78 (+6) in the final round to finish T25. Junior Caroline Garcia of Schreiner finished top-15 coming in T13 at the Texas Legends Cup shooting a 161 (+17) with a 78 in the final round. Sophomore Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran finished fourth at the Scots Fall Invitational recording a 168 (+24) to help the Bulldogs to a third place finish overall.
