KATELYN HENSLEE OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a first-year from Rusk, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Co-Golfer of the Week for competition played from Monday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 7. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Henslee led the way for McMurry at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational, posting a top-15 finish, finishing tied for 13th following a two-round total of 156 (+14). She opened the tournament with a 79 (+8), before firing a final round 77 (+6). Henslee finished tied for fifth in the field in par 5 scoring (5.17) and her 22 pars finished tied for the sixth most among all competitors. She finished the event tied for 13th with St. Thomas’ Leah Torres, the top two SCAC finishers in the field.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran finished in a tie for 26th at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational to lead the way for the Bulldogs. Asbury fired rounds of 85 (+14) and 82 (+11) to finish with a two-round total of 167 (+25). Sophomore Jennifer Converse of Dallas, playing as an individual, finished 37th at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational after posting a two-round total of 184 (+42). Converse shot rounds of 96 (+25) and 88 (+17), highlighted by three birdies, tied for the eighth most among all competitors.
