THOMAS CHANDLER OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a junior wide receiver from Waco, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 27th. SCAC Football Release (Week 4)
Chandler recorded 150 yards on nine receptions with three touchdowns in a win over Howard Payne. His longest touchdown of the day was a 53-yard reception and he accounted for all three offensive touchdowns for McMurry Saturday.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore quarterback Jake Blice of Hendrix had a career day in his first-ever start for the Warriors, tossing 3 touchdowns in a 47-28 win over Rhodes on Saturday night. The sophomore finished 22-of-33 for 339 yards through the air and added 28 yards on the ground. Junior wide receiver Javarion Williams of Lyon had 15 receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown, averaging over 10 yards per reception. Williams totaled 214 all-purpose yards on kickoff and punt returns as well and his 15 receptions is tied for third-most receptions in a single game in league history. Senior wide receiver Caleb Camarillo of Texas Lutheran posted a season-high 153 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday for the Bulldogs. Camarillo totaled three catches making the most of them with a pair of touchdowns from 72 yards and 39 yards.
