First-year goalkeeper Kieran McFarland of Austin College allowed just one goal and posted seven saves in helping the ‘Roos post a 1-0-1 record last week in SCAC play, highlighted by a 1-0 shutout win at Centenary on Sunday. McFarland now leads the SCAC with a 0.58 GAA on the season. Junior defender Karis Hickey of Concordia (TX) helped the Tornados pitch a shutout, allowing just two shots on goal, in the team’s lone match of the week, a 1-0 win over Dallas on the road on Friday. First-year goalkeeper Kinsey Fulks of LeTourneau had a strong day in net with six saves in a narrow, 1-0, loss against St. Thomas. She kept the YellowJackets in the match with five key saves in the opening half. First-year defender Asanah Gordon of St. Thomas continued her stellar start to her rookie campaign, anchoring a Celt defense that allowed just one goal over the weekend and posted a 1-0-1 record, highlighted by a 1-0 shutout victory on the road against LeTourneau. Gordon and the Celts defense allowed just one goal, eight shots on target and five corner kicks in securing four important points in the league standings. She also jumped in offensively, assisting on St. Thomas’ goal in a 1-1 draw against Austin College on Sunday.
