USTFCCCA Honors 10 SCAC Teams, 25 Student-Athletes for Academic Excellence

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The United States Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division III Track & Field Team and Athlete Academic awards on Tuesday.

In total, 10 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) teams, six women’s and four men’s, received the Academic Team award. Colorado College, LeTourneau University, Southwestern University and Trinity University received the award for both the men’s and women’s programs, while the University of Dallas and McMurry University women earned Academic Team honors. The Colorado College women led all SCAC teams with a 3.765 GPA and ranked sixth best among all NCAA Division III women’s programs. The CC Tigers also paced SCAC men’s programs with a 3.742 GPA, second best among all Division III men’s teams.  

A total of 377 teams were honors for their academics, including 214 women’s programs and 163 men’s squads. To be recognized, a program must have at least a 3.1 cumulative team GPA.   

In addition to the academic teams, 25 SCAC individuals were recognized for their academics. Colorado College led all SCAC institutions with nine honorees, followed by Trinity with eight, McMurry with four and LeTourneau and Southwestern with two honorees apiece.   

On the women’s side, Colorado College’s Charlie Flint, Britt Halgaas, Clara Lippert, Alison Mueller-Hickler, Isabel Olson and Sydney Rankin, LeTourneau’s Victoria Wilson, McMurry’s Tori Colman and Kendra Humphries, Southwestern’s Ella Lewis and Arden Neff and Trinity’s Addison Doss, Annabelle Lanik and Danya Selber.  Colorado College’s Mueller-Hickler and Olson, Southwestern’s Neff and Trinity’s Selber are being honored for the second consecutive year.   

The All-Academic honorees on the men’s side include Colorado College’s Rabbit Barnes, Will Shuflit and Josh Williams, LeTourneau’s Calvin Mason, McMurry’s Sheperd Miller and Reagan Owen and Trinity’s Jackson Gallagher, Pierce Jackson, Nic Ladreyt, Orie Piken and Ryan Tresaugue.  Ladreyt secured honors for the third consecutive year, while Williams and Gallagher both collected honors for the second-straight year.  

Overall, there were more than 1,000 men and women who were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes in Division III Track & Field.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: Must have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who were accepted into the Indoor National Championship, are eligible or have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who were accepted in the relay at the Indoor National Championship (alternates are excluded), are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.
