HELANA CHADWICK OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from La Vernia, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 1 through Sunday, December 7. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 5)

Chadwick led McMurry to a perfect 2-0 record in league play and 5-0 overall after the War Hawks defeated Schreiner, 77-75, to sweep the season series between the two programs. She poured in 24 points and secured her first double-double of the season with 10 rebounds. Chadwick also added five assists and one steal in the win. On the season, Chadwick currently leads the SCAC averaging 23.4 points per game and 5.8 assists per contest and her 6.6 rebounds per game has her in the top 15 at 12. Chadwick and the War Hawks are 5-0 for the first time since the 2022-23 season and just the third time since the 2006-07 season.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Lexi Martin of Austin College led a balanced scoring attack last week, pacing the 'Roos with 11.3 points per game while adding 2.7 assists in three games, with only three turnovers, while playing 38 minutes per game. Martin knocked down 9-of-22 three pointers, a clip of 40.9 percent, and was in double-digits in all three games. Senior guard Amiyah Barrow of Centenary led all scorers with 13 points in the Ladies' 55-50 comeback victory over LeTourneau on Tuesday night in Longview, Texas. Barrow hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 42 seconds left to give the Ladies a 53-50 lead and was 6-of-13 from the floor in 32 minutes with four rebounds. The Ladies trailed the YellowJackets by a score of 50-46 with 2:14 remaining and then went on a 9-0 run to finish the game in the league opener for both teams. First-year guard Gabriella Barrera of Dallas averaged 16.5 points on 50 percent shooting and added 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game in two contests last week for the Crusaders. Senior guard Bella Cates of Hendrix averaged 10 points per game in the Warriors' three contests this past week. She was limited to just one three-pointer against Champion Christian on Thursday and 10 points versus Rhodes on Saturday. The senior then put up a season-high 19 points versus Arkansas Baptist to lead Hendrix to a 66-63 win. Cates was 5-of-9 from behind the arc and shot 54.5 percent from the field.
