DYLAN PLAKE OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a first-year quarterback from Harker Heights, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, October 25th. SCAC Football Release (Week 8)
Plake accounted for five total touchdowns and passing 386 yards in the War Hawks' 52-6 win at Centenary. Plake was 24-of-32 through the air with four passing touchdowns while also adding a rushing touchdown. The first-year quarterback had a 75.0% completion percentage and posted his highest totals of the season in yards, touchdowns and completion percentage.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior running back Auvic White of Hendrix tallied his third 100-yard plus game on Saturday in the Warriors' 38-21 win over Lyon College. The senior rushed for 123 yards on 15 carries, averaging 8.2 yards per rush and broke off a long of 57 yards for his first of two touchdowns in the game. Junior wide receiver Javarion Williams of Lyon posted eight receptions for 73 yards in a 38-21 loss at Hendrix. Williams averaged just over nine yards per catch and had one rushing touchdown for 26 yards, giving him 99 all-purpose yards in the game. The wide receiver also had one pass completion for 35 yards. Sophomore running back Tory Brooks of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs with 127 yards of offense in a 55-7 win over Austin College. Brooks rushed 17 times averaging 7.5 yards per carry and scored a pair of touchdowns. He also had one reception for 12 yards.
