JORDAN RASCHKE OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Colorado City, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 31 through Sunday, April 6. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 6
Raschke competed in the decathlon at the David Noble Relays at Angelo State and posted a score of 5,735 - a personal record and a score that currently ranks atop the SCAC, sixth in the West Region, and 14th in Division III. In the decathlon, Raschke had PRs in the 100 meters (11.81), 400 meters (56.00) and pole vault (13' 1 1/2"). He finished fifth overall in the competition.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Calvin Mason of LeTourneau set a program record in the shot put with a distance of 15.77 meters (51' 9") at the Bill Schmidt Classic, hosted by UNT. The mark put Mason fourth in the event and mvoed him to 17th nationally. Senior Matthew Hicks of St. Thomas finished eighth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.97 meters at the Pelican Relays. First-year Nick Anderson of Concordia (Texas) placed sixth overall in the high jump at the David Noble Relays, tallying three points for his team with a leap of 1.80 meters, just .06 meters off his career-best.
