WESTON GUZMAN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN, a senior running back from McAllen, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 13th. SCAC Football Release (Week 2)
Guzman led the Bulldogs air and ground attack, rushing for 71 yards on 13 attempts and added a career-high 119 yards receiving on six catches against Howard Payne. He averaged 5.4 yards per rush and 19.8 per catch with a 69-yard touchdown.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior quarterback/linebacker Vance Feuerbacher of Centenary accounted for 147 total yards for the Gents on Saturday night at Millsaps as he finished 18-of-25 for 115 yards through the air and rushed seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown. Feuerbacher led the Gents on an 18-play, 99-yard drive and capped it with a one-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 early in the second quarter. Senior running back Auvic White of Hendrix had a career-high 137 yards on 29 carries averaging 4.7 yards per rush in the Warriors' 30-28 road win at Huntingdon. His longest rush of the day was a 26-yard play near the end of the third quarter.
