Around the SCAC - October 15th

SUWANEE, Ga. -- SCAC weekly releases for the week spanning from Monday, October 6th to Tuesday, October 14th.

Cross Country - Week 7 
It was a busy week in SCAC Cross Country action with seven programs competing. On the men’s side, Ozarks took top team honors in their home U of O invitational, while St. Thomas finished 14th, the top SCAC squad at the DBU Old Glory Gallup. In Women’s action, the Eagles secured top honors in their home meet, while the Celts posted the top SCAC performance at the DBU Old Glory Gallup, finishing 32nd. Cross Country continues this week with nine teams in action starting on Friday with LeTourneau racing at the Arturo Barrios Invite and McMurry, Ozarks and TLU lining it up at the Watson Collegiate Classic. Men's Runner of the Week - Elijah Emerson, University of St. Thomas
Elijah Emerson of University of St. Thomas, a first-year from Katy, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets conducted from Thursday, October 9 through Saturday, October 11.  Full Release - POTW Interview 

Women's Runner of the Week - Chloe Weathers, University of the Ozarks

Football - Week 6
The SCAC portion of the 2025 football schedule got underway last week with Hendrix (3-2, 1-0), McMurry (2-3, 1-0) and Texas Lutheran (2-3, 1-0) all picking up victories to open conference play. Conference action returns this weekend as the Warriors travel to take on the Bulldogs in Seguin, Austin College (1-3, 0-1) hosts the War Hawks and Centenary (0-4, 0-1) will face Lyon (1-3, 0-1) in Arkansas. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATISTICS

Offensive Player of the Week - Jacob Buniff, Hendrix College

Defensive Player of the Week - Owen Garcia, Texas Lutheran University
Owen Garcia of Texas Lutheran University, a sophomore defensive back from Austin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, October 11th. Full Release  

Special Teams Player of the Week - Jax Rodriguez, McMurry University

Golf - Week 5
Dallas hosted the SCAC Fall Preview to highlight week five conference golf action. On the men’s side, Schreiner and St. Thomas tied for the top spot, while in women’s action St. Thomas took home the team title. Men's Golfer of the Week - Jesus Del Agulia, University of St. Thomas
Jesus Del Agulia of University of St. Thomas, a sophomore from Mazatlan, Mexico, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, Ocotber 12 through Tuesday, October 14.  Full Release - POTW Interview

Women's Golfer of the Week - Belle Asbury, Texas Lutheran University
Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran University, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, Ocotber 12 through Tuesday, October 14.  Full Release   


Men's Soccer - Week 7
Colorado College (7-0-5, 4-0-2), Texas Lutheran (6-4-2, 4-1-1), Concordia (6-2-4, 3-0-3) and Centenary (6-5-2, 4-2-0) currently hold the top four spots on the SCAC Men’s Soccer table following the third full weekend of conference action. The Gents are currently riding a three-game SCAC win streak, the longest in program history and the four conference wins are a new program high in Centenary history. Offensive Player of the Week - Henry Shore, LeTourneau University
Henry Shore of LeTourneau University,a first-year forward from Longview, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 6th through Sunday, October 12th. Full Release

Women's Soccer - Week 7
Three full weekends into the SCAC portion of the Women’s Soccer schedule and McMurry (7-3-2, 5-0-1), Texas Lutheran (7-3-0, 5-0-0), St. Thomas (6-1-4, 3-0-2) and Concordia (3-6-3, 3-1-1) currently hold the top four spot in the league standings. Conference fixtures continue this weekend with five matches scheduled for Friday and five more on Sunday, highlighted by the War Hawks squaring off against the Bulldogs on Friday in Seguin. Swimming & Diving - Week 1 
The 2025-26 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving season got underway with four programs in action on both the men’s and women’s side. Volleyball - Week 7
Hendrix (13-3), St. Thomas (17-2) and Schreiner (15-4) are all currently tied with the top record in SCAC Volleyball action at 7-1 following the fourth weekend of league competition. Nine SCAC matches are scheduled this week, starting on Thursday when Austin College (11-7, 5-3) takes on Dallas (2-18, 1-7) in Irving. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATISTICS
