Asbury's Bonow Captures Fifth in 100 Fly at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Asbury University sophomore Ethan Bonow earned All-American honors in the 100-yard butterfly to highlight SCAC performances at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Full Meet Results

Competing in his second-straight NCAA National Swimming and Diving Championship, the 2026 SCAC Swimmer of the Meet, Bonow placed fifth in the nation, hitting the wall in 47.74 to earn All-American accolades. The Crawford, Texas native earned a spot in the finals after posting a prelim time of 47.69. Bonow, who set the SCAC open record at the 2026 conference championships, owns the highest single finish in the 100-yard butterfly in SCAC history and his fifth-place finish is the best performance in any event by a male swimmer since 2015.

In addition to his All-American certificate, Bonow also competed in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle at nationals. He secured 38th nationally in the 50, hitting the wall in 20.44 and then closed out his National Championships Meet, by earning 19th in the 100 with a time of 44.52.
