SUWANEE, Ga. -- Texas Lutheran University sophomore defensive back Owen Garcia was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week for week six of the 2025 season.
Garcia led the Bulldogs with a career-high 12 tackles in a 55-27 win over Centenary. The sophomore totaled 3.5 tackles for loss with nine solo stops against the Gents. The 12 tackles in a single contest are tied for second-most this season by an SCAC athlete. This marks Garcia's second weekly award of the season.
Earlier this week, Garcia was also named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Team of the Week is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 27th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Garcia is the first TLU athlete to earn D3football.com National Team of the Week honors since kicker Joaquin Rodriguez was recognized back in week 10 of the 2024 season. His selection marks the fourth total national honor for an SCAC athlete this year.
