KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Eleven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer student-athletes earned recognition with the release of the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams on Tuesday.
It marks the 18th consecutive season the SCAC has had 10 or more student-athletes land on an All-Region team, with a minimum of four first-team selections each season. Notably, the SCAC had five of the region’s 11 First-Team selections. Colorado College and Texas Lutheran University led all conference squads this year with five student-athletes to earn All-Region honors, followed by Hendrix College with one honoree.
The conference was represented on the All-Region X First Team by Colorado College juniors, Alex Wolter (GK), Jack Hilliard (M) and Teddy Opler (F) and Tiger senior Rex Karjian (D). Rounding out the SCAC All-Region X First Team honorees was Texas Lutheran first-year defender Alex Hart.
SCAC All-Region X Second Team honorees included TLU senior Evan Bremauntz and first-years Ewen Robertson (M) of Colorado College and Jesus Carrillo (F) of Texas Lutheran.
Texas Lutheran first-year goalkeeper Ernesto Avila and senior midfielder Carlos Longoria both secured All-Region X Third Team accolades.
Rounding out the SCAC All-Region selections was Hendrix sophomore midfielder Mike (Tripp) Ortega, who earned All-Region VI Fourth Team honors.
