LYNNASHIA BROOKS OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a sophomore on the women's basketball and flag football teams from Ennis, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning February 9.
The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
Lynnashia is a highly involved Schreiner University student-athlete pursuing the Mechanical Engineering track with a minor in Mathematics while competing in both women’s basketball and flag football.
Beyond athletics, she is an active campus leader, serving in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and participating in The Hidden Opponent (THO), advocating for student-athlete mental health. Lynnashia balances multiple work-study roles with Schreiner Outfitters and as a tutor in Dickey Hall, while also giving back through programs such as Mountaineer Mentor, the Ambassador Program, and the Ancient & Honorable Order of the Campus (AHOC).
Her commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her involvement in the Schreiner Honors Program and membership in Alpha Lambda Delta Honors, highlighting her dedication to leadership, service, and scholarship.
Following graduation, Lynnashia wants to work for NASA.
