HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Concordia scored two runs in both the first and second innings to take an early 4-0 lead.
  • LeTourneau responded with a four-run third inning to tie the game, including Zach Baker hitting a two-run home run over the left field wall to make it 4-2. The homer was Baker's first of the season, and the second in his YellowJacket career.
  • Concordia answered right back in the bottom half as Jett Warner reached and moved into scoring position, then Logan Smith delivered a sacrifice fly to regain a 5-4 lead.
  • The game remained tight until the seventh when Carson Riley drew a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to 6-4. Concordia then broke things open in the eighth with a four-run inning. Louis Alonzo sparked the rally with an RBI triple, Kalen Clark added a sacrifice fly, and Ty Klaus-Kisamore capped the inning with a two-run home run to put the game out of reach at 10-4.
  • On the mound, Gavin Voth was dominant in relief, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing just four hits to earn the win. The Tornados' bullpen combined to limit LeTourneau after the third inning, allowing just one run the rest of the way.
