LeTourneau's Dugan Named SCAC Men's Track & Field Elite 19 Award Recipient

ABILENE, Texas -- In a announcement made at Sunday's conference championship, LeTourneau University's David Dugan was named the 2026 SCAC Men’s Track and Field Elite 19 award winner.

Dugan, a senior from Lake Oswego, Ore., who is a Mechanical Engineering major, currently holds a 4.00 GPA and earned All-SCAC honors at this weekend’s SCAC Championship meet by finishing second in the 10,000 meters.

This marks Dugan's second honor after earning Elite 19 for men's cross country in the fall. He was the first honoree from LeTourneau and his award this spring marks the third total for the YellowJackets following women's golfer Hannah Newell's honor earlier this month.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First, Second or Third Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
