LOUISVILLE, Ky., -- Texas Lutheran University senior right-hander Katelyn Howard has been named the inaugural Wilson/NFCA Division III National Pitcher of the Week for the 2026 season it was announced Tuesday.
Howard tossed two complete game shutouts to lead TLU to a sweep of LeTourneau as the Bulldogs outscored the YellowJackets 20-0 over the series. Howard struck out 13 of 54 batters faced and only walked three, leading the SCAC with 34 Ks on the season. In addition to her perfect 0.00 ERA, she also posted an impressive 0.86 WHIP while leading the SCAC on the week with 13 strikeouts.
Randolph-Macon’s Reagan Hill was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week. Winners are selected by the NFCA Division III Top 25 committee, which has a representative from each of the 10 NCAA regions.
Earlier in the week, Howard was also named SCAC Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.
Howard is the first SCAC athlete to be recognized by the NFCA for one of its national weekly awards since TLU’s Serena Gonzalez secured her second career National Player of the Week Honor in April of the 2025 season. Howard is the first SCAC pitcher to win national Pitcher of the Week honors since former Bulldog Ashlyn Strother was recognized in March of the 2024 season.
