OLIVER SMEAL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year from Larchmont, N.Y., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 2
Smeal broke the school record in the javelin at the outdoor season-opening Oxy Distance Classic in Los Angeles. He won the event with a toss of 166' 9", surpassing the previous record of 164' 4" by Tim Hebert in 1991. Smeal was also a member of the third-place 4x100 relay and finished 10th in the 100.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior DonTre Sinegal of McMurry won both the long jump and the triple jump at the Hardin-Simmons/Nelson/McMurry Tri-Meet on Thursday. Sinegal jumped 7.47 meters (24' 6 1/4") to take the long jump and 15.17 meters (49' 9 1/4") to overtake the triple jump competitors.
