ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University led from start to finish and capped its final appearance in the SCAC Women's Track and Field Championships with a conference title Sunday afternoon on its home track at Wilford Moore Stadium. McMurry started the day with a 26-point lead and ended the day with that same 26-point margin, taking the program's first SCAC women's title with 191 points. Colorado College, the 2024 champions, finished second with 165 points and Texas Lutheran University, who was seeking its first team title since 2014, settled for third with 134 points.
McMurry senior Tori Colman was tabbed as SCAC Female Athlete of the Meet honors, earning first place in the hammer throw to pair with second place finishes in both the discus and the shot put - accounting for 26 points.
Four conference records were established over the course of the weekend, and McMurry ended up with a meet-high 16 medals, followed by Colorado College with 14 and St. Thomas with 10. McMurry had the most gold with eight while St. Thomas had five and Colorado College had four.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colorado College junior Charlie Flint (watch post race interview) gave CC its fifth consecutive victory in the 5,000 meters, taking gold at this year's event with a finishing time of 18:11.31. Teammate senior Abby Goodfried took second with a time of 18:15.96 and Texas Lutheran junior Mackenzie Combs earned third place with a finishing time of 18:19.66.
- In the pole vault, McMurry junior Brenna Stell (watch post event interview) broke her own conference mark, clearing 4.11 meters (13' 5 3/4") to win gold in the event for the second consecutive year. The monster clearance is the best in Division III this season and the eighth-best all-time. Stell had set the former mark of 12' 3 1/4" at last year's meet. Stell's teammate, sophomore Madeline Sumien, took silver with a clearance of 3.46 meters (11' 4 1/4") and Colorado College freshman Kiara Martin placed third, clearing 3.36 meters (11' 1/4").
- Bronwyn Adams of Hendrix (watch post event interview) earned top podium honors in the discus, taking down an SCAC meet record in the process. The sophomore reached 147' 7" (45.00 meters) with her winning toss, destroying the former conference meet record of 142' 1", which was set last year by McMurry's Tori Colman, who despite besting her mark from a year ago, had to settle for second this year with a toss of 144' 11" (44.17 meters). Texas Lutheran junior Madison Wright was third with an effort of 121' 9" (37.12 meters).
- With the completion of the field events, the competition returned to the track in the late morning, with the first relay of the meet bringing the the best 4x100 teams to the blocks. The St. Thomas quartet of sophomore Quadetra Wilburn, first-year Christalyn Dorsey, first-year Houlda Dibanda and senior Trinity Provost (watch post race interview) took top honors, scorching around the track in a time of 47.57 - the second-fastest time in SCAC championship meet history. Texas Lutheran earned second place with a time of 49.04 and Colorado College was third in 49.23.
- After finishing as runner-up a year ago, Colorado College junior Allison Barker (watch post race interview) earned gold this year in the 1,500 meters, hitting the tape at 4:44.52. Barker's senior teammates Abby Goodfried and Abby Goulas completed the podium sweep for the Tigers, finishing in times of 4:51.20 and 4:54.12, respectively. The program sweep of the awards podium marked the first time since 2009 (DePauw) that a program had individuals finish 1-2-3 in the event.
- A year after finishing third as a freshman, McMurry sophomore Annikah Frank (watch post race interview) earned top honors in the 100 meter hurdles this year in a finishing time of 14.62. Her teammate and fellow sophomore Emily Jackson was second in 14.69 and LeTourneau first-year Madison Williams crossed in third with a time of 15.50.
- First-year Eslie Ngoran of St. Thomas (watch post race interview) took top honors in the 400 meters, earning gold with a finishing time of 57.85. Colorado College first-year Thalia Goessling was second in 58.06 and junior Bailey Haas of University of Dallas gave the Crusaders their first medal of the meet, finishing in third with a time of 58.70.
- St. Thomas sophomore Quadetra Wilburn (watch post race interview) earned her second consecutive win in the 100 meters, hitting the tape at 11.86, to earn gold in the event. She had set the conference record in the previous day's prelims with a time of 11.83. Celts swept the all-conference honors in the event as senior Trinity Provost was second in 12.14 - her second consecutive silver medal in the event - and first-year Christalyn Dorsey finished third in a time of 12.21.
- Colorado College junior Allison Barker (watch post race interview) picked up her second gold of the afternoon, taking top honors in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:15.81. She was third in the event last year. Sophomore Macy Weathers of University of the Ozarks was second in 2:21.67 and Dallas first-year Rosie Beard finished third with a time of 2:22.31.
- Senior Madelyn Gollihar of McMurry (watch post race interview) took top honors in the 400 meter hurdles, breaking the tape this year in a winning time of 1:05.84. Texas Lutheran senior Kamilah Tanner was second with a time of 1:06.04 and McMurry junior Lily Cunningham finished third in 1:07.13.
- In the final individual event of the afternoon, St. Thomas senior Trinity Provost (watch post race interview) secured the top spot on the podium for the third consecutive year in the 200 meters with a winning time of 24.77. Her time is the third fastest in SCAC Track Meet history, and with the victory, she becomes just the fourth woman in SCAC history to win three consecutive titles in the 200-meter dash. First-year Malaya Thomas of Concordia (Texas) finished second with a time of 24.89 and St. Thomas sophomore Quadetra Wilburn claimed bronze, crossing the line in 24.91.
- In the final race of the meet, Colorado College earned its first win the 4x400 relay since 2018 - led by the foursome of first-year Thalia Goessling, sophomore Clara Kirr, junior Allison Barker and senior Clara Lippert (watch post race interview) - and took gold with a time of 3:57.73. St. Thomas placed second with a time of 3:59.69 and McMurry was third to the line in 4:03.75.
