MASON WALLACE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior guard from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Friday, January 16 through Sunday, January 18.  SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 10)

Wallace averaged 19.0 points per game across a 1-1 week in league play for the Bulldogs adding 12 assists including nine in a win over Schreiner. Against the Mountaineers, Wallace scored 22 points shooting 66.7 percent from the floor and was perfect from the free throw line. The senior averaged six assists per game and shot 51.9 percent from the floor.
 
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Quentin Beverly of Centenary had an impressive weekend for the Gents in a pair of games at Austin College and Dallas as he averaged 17.0 PPG. He shot 40 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line while adding five steals, five rebounds, and one assist. On Saturday at Dallas, Beverly scored a game-high 25 points as he scored 20+ points for the sixth time this season. First-year Ryan Krantz of Colorado College led the Tigers in scoring over the weekend with 15.0 points per game. He put up a career-high 22 points on Sunday against the University of the Ozarks and finished with 33 minutes, six three-pointers (career-high) and six rebounds. On Friday, he added eight points, four rebounds, and an assist in a win over Hendrix. Senior Joey Ramirez of Concordia (Tex.) averaged 19.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in a pair of victories for the Tornados over the weekend. In a 102-77 win over McMurry, Ramirez totaled a game-high 23 points, six rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists in 26 minutes. The senior then added 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a 98-95 comeback win over Schreiner. Junior Thomas Fleming of Dallas averaged 17.0 points per game while shooting an efficient 55.6 percent from the field, 45.5 percent from three, and a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line across two starts. His consistent scoring efficiency and ability to convert at all three levels anchored the Crusaders’ offense throughout the week. Junior Kyle Roach of Hendrix finished in double-figures in each of the Warriors' two weekend contests. He scored 11 points in Hendrix's loss to Colorado College on Friday and added 10 points and three assists on Sunday versus St. Thomas (Tex.). Senior Teigan Edwards of LeTourneau averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game in a 2-0 week for LeTourneau. In a 75-55 win at Dallas, he had 14 points with three rebounds, three assists, and one steal and block. He then poured in a game-high 23 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals in a 72-53 win at Austin. Senior Jalen Cherry of McMurry averaged 20.0 points per game over a 1-1 week for the War Hawks posting 25 points in a win at Texas Lutheran. Cherry had double-doubles in both contests with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Concordia (Tex.) and 25 points and 22 rebounds at TLU. Cherry shot 69.2 percent from the floor when putting up 25 points against the Bulldogs. Junior Dylan Archey of Ozarks (Ark.) averaged 17.0 points and hit 7-of-18 from the three-point line over two games for the Eagles. Archey had a career day against Colorado College scoring 30 points behind a 6-of-13 (46 percent) performance from the three-point line to push the Eagles to a win. For the week, Archey shot 38 percent from the three-point line and averaged 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Junior Corey Thompson of St. Thomas (Tex.) powered the offense over two games, averaging 12.5 points per contest while shooting 42.9 percent from the field. He added 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, finishing the week with a strong 4.0 assist-to-turnover ratio while logging nearly 30 minutes per night.
