Herrera, a junior from New Braunfels, Texas, and Moninger, a junior from New Braunfels, Texas, went undefeated at No. 1 doubles this past week, posting conference victories against their counterparts at St. Thomas on Friday and Dallas on Saturday. The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 in conference play; 6-3 overall with the team victories over the Celts and Crusaders.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Adrian Munguia and first-year Vincent Risoldi of Concordia (Texas) tallied a pair of victories in line one doubles for the Tornados. The duo outlasted Ernestio Gonzalez-Molina and Ryan Morales of Schreiner in a 7-6 (7-4) instant classic, then surged past Maddux Foster and Zach Fowler of Hardin-Simmons by a score of 6-2. In their first match playing together as a doubles team this season, sophomore Jared Perry and junior Conor Kaczmarczyk of Trinity led the Tiger men's tennis team to a 5-2 SCAC road win over Southwestern on Sunday afternoon. The Tiger doubles duo opened the scoring with a dominating 6-0 win at line three doubles, setting the tone for the rest of the day. Trinity went on to sweep doubles and clinch the match with the first three singles victories to make it 4-0 at the time. The Tiger victory marked the first conference loss of the season for the Pirates.
