COOPER HOLLOMON OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Bellville, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, Ocotber 27 through Wednesday, October 5. SCAC Golf Release (Week 7)
Perez was the top SCAC individual finisher at the Hardin-Simmons/Abilene Intercollegiate, leading Schreiner to a third-place team finish. Perez secured a tie for third-place finish after posting a two-round total of 146 (+4). He opened with a 74 (+3) and closed with a 72 (+1), jumping three spots to claim a tie for third. Perez finished the tournament second in par 4 scoring (3.95, -1) and his six birdies were tied for third best in the field.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Aubrey Snell of Centenary posted a top five finish, finishing fifth at the Belhaven Invitational to lead the Gents to an overall tied for sixth place finish. Snell fired rounds of 75 (+3) and 71 (-1) to finish with a two-day total of 146. He finished the week tied for first with 26 total pars. Sophomore Chase Allison of McMurry finished third at the Belhaven Invitational, one of just three players in the field to finish under par on the week after posting a two-round total of 142. Allison opened with an even par round of 72 before closing with a 2-under round of 70 to secure a top-three finish. He was outstanding on the Par 5 holes, finishing five under over the two round with the second best scoring average in the field of 4.38. Sophomore William Alberty of St. Thomas led the way for the Celts at the Firestorm Fall Invitational, finishing tied for 34th with a 54-hole total of 223 (+7). He finished the week tied for 14th with 37 total pars.
