CALEB CAMARILLO OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior wide receiver from Gonzales, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Saturday, November 1st. SCAC Football Release (Week 9)
Camarillo had his first kickoff return for a touchdown with a 98-yard touchdown in the Bulldogs' 42-13 win over McMurry. Camarillo totaled 107 yards on a pair of kick returns and posted 131 all-purpose yards. The senior earns his second weekly award of the season after taking SCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week in week one.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year wide receiver Jaedim Kim of Hendrix had his first-career touchdown on a 96-yard kickoff return, one of three returns for him totaling 186 yards in the Warriors' 64-10 win over Centenary. Kim totaled 207 all-purpose yards with one punt return for 21 yards and averaged 62.0 yards per kickoff return. Junior kicker/punter Jesus Romero-Castillo of Lyon went 3-3 in PATs and totaled 431 yards and two touchbacks on kickoffs in the Scots' 40-28 win over Austin College. In punting, he racked up 167 yards on four punts, with two inside the 20-yard line and one going for 55-yards. He also made one 36-yard field goal as he was perfect in the contest. Sophomore kicker Jax Rodriguez of McMurry was perfect on the day with a pair of field goals and a PAT. His longest field goal of the day came from 44 yards, and he totaled five punts for 181 yards averaging 36.2 yards per punt with a long of 51 yards.
