WESTWORTH VILLAGE, Texas -- No. 39 LeTourneau University extended its lead, firing a second round 310 (+22) to open a 19-shot lead heading into tomorrow’s final day of the 2026 SCAC Women’s Golf Championship which is being contested at Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas. Tomorrow’s third and final round at the par-72 5,820-yard layout is scheduled to start, weather pending, at 8:30 a.m., with the leaders scheduled to take the tee around 9:55 a.m. The women will start from the No. 10 tee.
SCAC Tournament debutant, LeTourneau pushed its 14-shot first round lead to a 19-shot margin on Monday, finishing with a second-round total of 310 (+22) and a two-day total of 621 (+45). The YellowJackets’ second round team score of 310 is the third lowest second round team score in SCAC Tournament history. University of St. Thomas, who finished Monday’s round 10-strokes better as a team than the opening 18-holes, remains in second following a second-round total of 315 (+27).
The Celts’ two-day total of 640 (+64) puts them nine shots clear of Schriner University, who sits in third place after rounds of 330 and 319 and a two-day score of 649 (+73). McMurry University is fourth (335-320—655) and Centenary College is fifth (341-336—677).
In total six teams dropped their team score from round one to round two, however the overall scoring average jumped ever so slightly on a mostly overcast dry day from 85.79 to 85.88.

LeTourneau leads the field with 21 birdies, 10 more than St. Thomas who has posted 11 birdies as a group through the first two days. The YellowJackets have also been strong on the Par 4s, leading the field with a 4.23 (+23) scoring average.
Individually, LeTourneau’s Kinley Pessel fired an even-par second round 72, the best in the field to take a two-shot solo lead over the opening round leader Leah Torres of St. Thomas. Pessel’s two-day total of 147 (+5) (75-72) is tied for lowest 36-hole total in SCAC Tournament history, while her second-round even-par 72 is also tied for the lowest second round score in league history. Torres sits just two-shots back after firing a second round 76 for a two-day total of 149 (+7). Pessel is tied for the lead with six birdies through two rounds, while Torres paces the field with 25 pars through the opening 36-holes.

LeTourneau’s Elena Jurado (77-78) and St. Thomas’ Cameron Fraizer (78-77) sit tied for third with a two-round total of 155 (+11). Jurado is currently tied for third in the field with five birdies and Frazier is third in the field with 22 pars after the opening two days.
Closing out the top-five individually going into the final round, Schreiner’s Abby Yanta (77-79), McMurry’s Katelyn Henslee (77-79), Texas Lutheran’s Belle Asbury (78-78) and LeTourneau’s Emerson Swanner (78-78) all sit timed for fifth two a 36-hole total of 156.
Rounding out the women’s second-round team standings, Concordia University (Tex.) is sixth with 685 (346-339), Hendrix is seventh after posting a two-day total of 720 (358-362), and University of Dallas is eighth with a 733 (360-373).
