DAVI'YANNA JONES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY,  a junior guard from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 12 through Sunday, January 18. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 10)

Jones led the Bulldogs to a pair of SCAC wins to improve to 6-0 in league play after knocking off Schreiner and McMurry at home. Jones averaged 14 points on 62.5 percent shooting and grabbed nine rebounds a game, highlighted by her second double-double of the year in the win over the War Hawks with 14 points and 10 rebounds. In addition, Jones added 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game last week.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC: 
Junior guard Lexi Martin of Austin College helped the ‘Roos go unbeaten against Centenary and LeTourneau last weekend, averaging 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from three and making 80 percent from the free throw line. That included scoring 20 points in just 26 minutes in the team's win over Centenary. Senior forward Kyra Stokes of Centenary averaged 11.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the Ladies over the weekend in a pair of games at Austin College and Dallas. Stokes shot over 50 percent from the floor and tallied an assist, a steal, and a blocked shot per contest.  First-year forward Rayna Welsch of Colorado College had a stellar weekend, leading the Tigers to a 2-0 outing in Arkansas. She averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. On Friday against Hendrix, she scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds and followed that performance up on Sunday against Ozarks, leading all players with a career-high 26 points off 71 percent shooting (10-14). She finished the weekend averaging 52 percent from the floor and she also averaged 1.5 steals per game on the defensive side. First-year guard Gabriella Barrera of Dallas led the Crusaders to a pair of SCAC wins at home last weekend, knocking off LeTourneau on Friday and Centenary on Saturday. Barrera averaged 13.0 points on 33.3 percent shooting, reaching double-figures in both contests. She also grabbed 3.0 rebounds, dishes out 2.5 assists and collected 1.0 steals per game to lift UD to a pair of key conference wins. Junior guard Natalie Edmonson of Hendrix finished in double-figures in both of the Warriors' contests over the weekend. On Friday, she tallied 10 points in a loss to Colorado College. On Sunday, she led Hendrix to an 83-68 win over St. Thomas with 21 points off five threes and 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Sophomore forward Kennedi Wight of Ozarks secured a double-double in the Eagles loss to St. Thomas last Friday, pouring in 20 points and adding 10 rebounds. For the week, Wight averaged 12.5 points per game, connected on 50 percent from the three-point line and grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game. Junior guard Macie Whitfield of St. Thomas led the Celts to a 1-1 record last week in SCAC play, averaging 7.5 points on 37.5 percent shooting, grabbed 5.5 rebounds and added 1.5 steals, 1.0 assists and 0.5 blocks per game.
