PERCY GREEN OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TEX.), a junior from Oklahoma City, Okla., has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, February 3 through Sunday, February 8. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 13)
Green averaged 26.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg, and 2.3 blocks while shooting an efficient 69.0 percent in three wins for the Tornados last week. The junior posted 26 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks on the road against LeTourneau. He then added 27 points, four boards, and three blocks against the University of Dallas. In the final game of the week, Green poured in another 27 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Tasshir Pina-Warren of Austin College had a career-best weekend as the 'Roos split their two road games, averaging 26.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from deep, making 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. Pina-Warren scored a career-best 31 in a big road win at TLU, while shooting 69.2 percent, marking the first time this season a 'Roo has hit the 30-point mark in a game. First-year Kane Broussard of Centenary had a big weekend as he led the Gents to three conference wins at home against TLU and then at Hendrix and Ozarks, averaging 16.3 PPG, shooting an even 50 % from the floor, 48 % from beyond the arc, and 83.3 % from the FT line. He made 12 treys last week, grabbed 22 rebounds, and tallied four steals, two assists, and two blocked shots with a trio of double-digit scoring performances. Senior Asher Nofziger of Colorado College averaged 21.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting 53.6 percent from the field across matchups with McMurry and Schreiner. In both contests, Nofziger posted 21 points and across the two-game stretch, Nofziger totaled 42 points and 16 rebounds, including eight offensive boards that created second-chance opportunities for the Tigers. On Sunday, he also surpassed 600 career rebounds, becoming just the seventh player in program history to reach the milestone. Senior Teigan Edwards of LeTourneau averaged 16.7 points, 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals as LeTourneau went 2-1 on the week. He scored a career-high 30 points with nine rebounds and five assists in a narrow loss to Concordia (Tex.). Edwards then had 12 points and two steal in a win at Ozarks before going for eight points, and nine assists with two steals in a win at Hendrix. Junior Justin Gooden of Schreiner averaged 18 points a game over the week shooting 50 percent from the field in a 1-1 week for the Mountaineers. Gooden scored 18 in both games of the weekend while adding six assists, no turnovers and four steals. Junior Corey Thompson of St. Thomas powered the Celts to two conference victories averaging 18.0 points per game, totaling 36 points in 60 minutes while shooting 50.0 percent from the field. He was especially effective converting at the free-throw line, going a perfect 10-for-10 from the stripe. Senior Mason Wallace of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs with 24 points, including 13 points in the final 7:30 of the game to end their SCAC losing streak against Dallas on Sunday. At the 1:26 mark in the second half, Wallace reached a career milestone, becoming the 38th member of Texas Lutheran's 1,000 point club. Wallace is the first Bulldog to reach the 1,000 point mark since former teammate Xavier Phillips (2020-25).
