EMILY PULLEN AND VALERIE SANCHEZ OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TEXAS), have been selected as the SCAC Women’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Wednesday, January 28 to Sunday, February 8. SCAC Women's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 1
Pullen, a junior from Tucson, Ariz., and Sanchez, a sophomore from Plano, Texas, were spectacular in their spring debut at line one doubles, picking up a 6-0 sweep of the duo from Texas Lutheran in the conference opener for both squads.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Josie Leffingwell and first-year Evie Sandlin of Hendrix helped deliver the doubles point to Hendrix by defeating NAIA John Brown's No. 1 doubles pairing, 6-1. The Tornados earned the 7-0 conference-opening victory over TLU. Sophomore Maya Jackson and first-year Kinverly Ibarra of Schreiner went 1-1 on the week, picking up a 7-5 victory on the No. 2 line for the Mountaineers in the team's 5-2 victory over Howard Payne in the team's spring opener.
