CHASE SCHOLZ OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TEX.), a junior from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, March 10 through Sunday, March 15. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 5
Scholz turned in a strong week at the No. 1 singles position for the Tornados, picking up two impressive straight-set victories against strong competition. Scholz defeated WashU’s Jeremy Sieben 6-1, 6-4 and followed with another dominant performance against Colorado College’s Dominik Kaminski, winning 6-2, 6-3. Scholz was the lone win for the Tornados in both matches including winning against 15th ranked WashU's top line.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Sam Dilworth of Colorado College won all three of his matches at the No. 2 position as CC opened SCAC play last week. He defeated Noah Salas of Schreiner, 6-1, 6-2, Ajonte St. Ville of TLU, 6-3, 7-5, and Daniel Beckles of Concordia, 6-2, 6-4, to help the Tigers win 26 of 27 matches during the week. Senior Zach Farris of LeTourneau won at the top flight in singles and picked up a win at No. 2 doubles in LeTourneau's narrow, 4-3, loss to Greenville. Farris outlasted Greenville's Jean Sanabria in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-3, at the No. 1 spot. He and Timothy Black worked a 6-3 win over Sanabria and Colton Hulme at No. 2 doubles.
