Scholz set the tone in the season & conference opener for Concordia (Texas) as the junior defeated Cash Herrera of Texas Lutheran, 6-1, 6-0, at No. singles to open the spring season. His performance jumpstarted the Tornados to the 7-0 victory over TLU.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Wesley McClure of Hendrix went 1-1 in the No. 1 singles against NCAA Division II Harding and NAIA John Brown. Against Harding's Cian Mikkelson, the sophomore narrowly lost 6-4, 7-5. He then defeated John Brown's Lucas Machado 6-2, 6-1. First-year Jason Soto of Schreiner went 1-1 on the week, picking up a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Howard Payne's Eli Hall at No. 3 singles in the spring dual openter.
