COLIN PEREZ OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior from Spring Branch, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Thursday, Ocotber 16 through Tuesday, October 21. SCAC Golf Release (Week 6)
Perez was the top SCAC individual finisher at the Hardin-Simmons/Abilene Intercollegiate, leading Schreiner to a third-place team finish. Perez secured a tie for third-place finish after posting a two-round total of 146 (+4). He opened with a 74 (+3) and closed with a 72 (+1), jumping three spots to claim a tie for third. Perez finished the tournament second in par 4 scoring (3.95, -1) and his six birdies were tied for third best in the field.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Kaden English of Concordia (TX) finished tied for 10th at the Hardin-Simmons/Abilene Intercollegiate to pace the Tornados. English carded rounds of 76 (+5) and 74 (+3) for a two-day total of 150 (+8). He finished the week, tied for second in Par 5 scoring average (4.83, -1) and his 23 pars were tied for fourth best in the field. Senior William Baker of Hendrix finished tied for third to lead the Warriors in a dual against Lyon last week. Baker fired a three-under round of 69, highlighted by a blistering back nine in which he birdied three of his final four holes to post 33 coming into the clubhouse. Sophomore Chase Allison of McMurry led the way for the War Hawks at the Hardin-Simmons/Abilene Intercollegiate. Allison finished tied for 14th (151, +9), highlighted by seventh lowest final round in the field with a 73 (+2).
