CAMILLE SHERRILL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior outside hitter from Missoula, Mont., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Tuesday, November 4th through Sunday, November 9th. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 11)
Sherrill led the Tigers to a pair of five-set victories at home last weekend with a team-high 51 kills while hitting .291 for the weekend. She had 26 against Concordia, then 25 as CC rallied from two sets down to beat Texas Lutheran. The award marks her third honor of the season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outside hitter Rachel Sadler of Austin College posted 34 kills over a 3-1 week for the 'Roos including 3-0 in league play with a five-set win over division-leader Hendrix. Sadler had a high of 17 in that win over the Warriors while adding 10 service aces including a career-high seven against Centenary. Sophomore outside hitter Brooklynne Fitzgerald of Concordia (Tex.) averaged 4.50 kills per set over the week and 5.00 kills per set in league action. Fitzgerald tallied a career-high 29 kills and 20 digs in a four-set win over St. Thomas (Tex.) on the road to upset the top-seeded Celts. Senior outside hitter Aubree McCann of LeTourneau posted 21 kills with 14 in league play in a straight-sets win over Centenary. McCann hit .423 against the Ladies and added six digs over a 2-0 weekend. Senior right side hitter Carli Colbert of McMurry totaled 19 kills across two matches with 13 in a conference loss to Schreiner. Colbert contributed 27 digs with a double-double against Schreiner with 13 kills and 16 digs. First-year outside hitter Brooke Humphrey of Ozarks (Ark.) recorded 33 kills over three matches for the Eagles with a high of 18 in a four-set win against Dallas. Humphrey ended the season as the team-leader in kills. Senior outside hitter Ryann Ely of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs with 32 kills including 21 against Colorado College on the road. Ely added 16 total digs and three blocks over the week.
