Kaminski, a junior from Glenview, Ill., and Boder a junior from Briarcliff Manor, NY, posted a perfect 3-0 record at the top doubles line last week as the Tigers earned victories in all three matches and secured a perfect 10-0 record in SCAC play to clinch the No. 1 seed going into the conference tournament. The duo opened the week with a 6-2 win over UC Santa Cruz and closed the with back-to-back 6-2 wins over Austin College and Dallas at the top doubles line.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Wesley McClure and first-year James Thomson of Hendrix helped the Warriors secure the No. 2 seed going into the SCAC Tournament posting a perfect 2-0 record at the top doubles line. The duo posted back-to-back 6-3 wins over the top doubles team from both TLU and Concordia. Sophomores Andrew Reiman and Fernando Vazquez of LeTourneau helped lift the YellowJackets into the SCAC Tournament securing wins at the top doubles line to help get team victories over McMurry and Schreiner. The doubles pair won 6-1 in the match against the War Hawks and earned a 6-3 victory over the Mountaineers top duo. Seniors Kento Iwahara and Perry Guidry of Ozarks pushed their season win total to 14 as a doubles squad after securing victories over both TLU and Concordia at the top doubles line. The duo defeated the Bulldogs pair by a score of 6-4 before knocking off the top doubles team from the Tornados, 6-2. The 14 wins are the most in program history for a single season from a doubles squad. Sophomores Wilson Salazar and Sawyer White of St. Thomas posted a 6-4 win over McMurry’s top double squad to help lift the Celts into the SCAC Tournament this upcoming weekend.
