RABBIT BARNES OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Schertz, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athletes of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 6 through Sunday, April 12. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 8
Barnes posted the third-fastest time in Division III and broke his own school record in the 1500-meters at the Bryan Clay Invite. He finished the ‘Invite’ section of the 1500-meters, primarily consisting of Division I and II runners, in 64th place with a time of 3:44.60, breaking his own school record of 3:49.04.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Abdiel Rincon of LeTourneau put together an outstanding performance at the Dan Veach Invitational, breaking the program record in the 100-meters with a second-place finish, crossing the line in 10.76. It is the sixth fastest time in the SCAC to date. Rincon also placed fourth in the 200-meters with a PR time of 22.34. Junior Sean Dansby of Schreiner broke the program record in the 1,500-meters at the Tarleton State Invite, crossing the line in 4:03.50, currently the eighth fastest time in the SCAC to date. Dansby finished third in the 800-meters, posting a time of 1:52.2, currently the fast time in the SCAC .
