Presley was the engine that led the Bulldog defensive effort last weekend, allowing opponents to an SCAC low just 63.3 points per contest and a perfect 2-0 start with wins over Hardin-Simmons and Howard Payne on the road. She averaged 3.5 defensive rebounds per game and added 2.0 steals. Additionally, she played lock down defense holding HSU preseason All-American guard and last year’s D3Hoops Rookie of the Year to just three points.
Senior Samantha Ising of Concordia grabbed four defensive rebounds, tallied three blocks and added one steal in the Tornados opener against Whitman last Saturday. Sophomore Lila Hartness of Ozarks averaged 4.0 steals and 2.5 defensive rebounds last week to lift the Eagles to a 1-1 record to open the season. Senior Amyia Bowie of St. Thomas recorded four steals, grabbed six defensive rebounds and added one block in a tough season opening loss to Div. II Texas A&M Int’l last Saturday night .
