CALVIN MASON OF LETOURNEAU, a junior from New London, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 2
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Michael Cunningham of Centenary threw a school record 43.33m in the discus in the Gents' season-opeing meet, the LeTourneau University Invitational. Senior Leroy Burke of McMurry tied his indoor personal best with a strong 4.70m clearance in the pole vault, winning the event for McMurry University. This mark matches his career high and ranks third nationally. First-year Tyler Davis of Schreiner won the men's shot put with a throw of 14.90m (48'10.50 feet) at the Southwestern Central Texas Invitational setting a new school record in the process and is currently ranked fourth nationally. Junior Parker Cabra of Texas Lutheran won the High Jump at the Central Texas Invite. Cabra took one jump in the weather-shortened competition. His opening bar at 1.82 (5'11.75) was good for the win, before the competition was ended due to storms in the area.
