BLAKE GOODRIDGE OF LETOURNEAU UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Keller, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Friday, February 6 through Sunday, February 8. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 1
Goodridge made his debut with the YellowJackets by tossing six shutout innings and striking out nine in a 7-0 win over Millsaps. The left-hander scattered just four hits and walked two while throwing 89 pitches (56 strikes) in a 7-0 win over Millsaps.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Roman Ardoin of Centenary got off to a strong start for the Diamond Gents as he tossed 5.2 innings in a 4-3 win over Occidental on Saturday in which he allowed just three runs, all earned, on seven hits with no walks and one strikeout. He threw 85 pitches - 56 for strikes. Senior left-handed pitcher Aiden Leggett of Hendrix was the pitcher of record in Hendrix's 12-2 run-rule victory over Westminster on Saturday. The senior lefty delivered 3.0 shutout innings out of the bullpen, striking out four batters while allowing just one hit to earn the winning decision. Senior right-handed pitcher Jake Dempsey of Ozarks (Ark.) scattered four hits over 4.1 innings while fanning a pair of batters to lead the Eagles to a season-opening win against Champion Christian College. Dempsey did not issue a walk during his outing to receive the win. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Armando Rocha of St. Thomas (Tex.) earned the win in his lone start of the week, working 4.1 innings and striking out five batters. He issued no walks allowing four earned runs on five hits. Senior right-handed pitcher Triston McGowan of Texas Lutheran turned in a quality start in his first appearance of the 2026 season with four strikeouts over six shutout innings. McGowan allowed just four hits and issued one walk.
