PERRY GUIDRY AND KENTO IWAHARA OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS (ARK.), have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 4
Guidry, a senior from Lafayette, La., and Iwahara, a senior from Fukuoka, Japan, pushed the Eagles to a 3-0 record over the weekend in Mississippi at the No. 1 doubles position. The duo opened the weekend with a 6-2 win against Belhaven. The next day, Guidry and Iwahara defeated Millsaps' No. 1 doubles tandem 6-2. The duo capped the weekend with another 6-2 win against Mississippi University for Women and securing the Eagles' third straight win.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomores Andrew Reiman and Fernando Vazquez of LeTourneau went 2-1 as a tandem, playing at No. 1 and No. 2, to help the Yellowjackets to a 2-1 week in Hilton Head. The duo took a 6-4 win over Gordon's Gabriel Guzman and Percy Martinez at the No. 2 flight, and then knocked off Carroll's Ryan LaBelle and Ultrick Gellein, 6-1, at the No. 1 flight. Sophomores Wilson Salazar and Sawyer White of St. Thomas picked up a 7-5 victory over the Dallas duo of Christian DeLira and Cayven Yi at the No. 1 line in Saturday's team victory over the Crusaders.
