JOSH GIL OF HENDRIX, a junior kicker/punter from New Braunfels, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 13th. SCAC Football Release (Week 2)

Gil punted six times for an average of 41.2 yards on Saturday in the Warriors' 30-28 win over Huntingdon. He had a long of 48 with two punts downed inside the 20, the last one being downed at the 1-yard line with just over two minutes remaining to pin the Hawks deep and secure the win. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior quarterback/linebacker Vance Feuerbacher of Centenary was all over the field for the Gents on Saturday at Millsaps as he punted seven times for 234 yards, an average of 33.4 yards per punt. He had a long of 44 yards while going 18-of-25 for 115 yards in the air at quarterback and rushed seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore kicker Jax Rodriguez of McMurry was 2-for-2 on field goals against #6 Hardin-Simmons with both coming over 40 yards each (42 & 44) and 1-for-1 on PAT. He had three punts for 107 yards averaging 35.7 yards per punt. Senior defensive back Eddy Brown of Texas Lutheran blocked a punt late in the third quarter against Howard Payne while adding a career-best seven tackles defensively.
