Sophomore forward Laney Lambert of Austin College scored the game-winning goal in the ‘Roos’ opening win of the 2025 season against Lyon at home on Saturday. Additionally, Lambert drew a penalty kick that extended the lead to, 2-0, of an eventual 3-0 victory. Junior forward Chanel Kemball-Cook of LeTourneau lifted the YellowJackets to a 5-0 win over Central Baptist with a goal and an assist to open the season. She assisted on the eventual game-winning goal from Lana Whiteman in the 13th minute and the scored in the 61st minute. The goal was the 18th of her career. Junior midfielder Madison Black of McMurry scored the lone goal in the War Hawks, 1-0, win over Millsaps to open the 2025 season on Saturday. Junior defender Angelina Lotz of Ozarks scored a goal in the Eagles, 2-1, win at home over Mississippi University for Women on Saturday. Sophomore forward Fernanda Alvarado of St. Thomas provided a spark off the bench scoring a goal in the Celts’ 1-1 draw against No. 23 ranked Pacific Lutheran to open the 2025 season last Friday.
