Matthews
was a force on the interior in lifting the ‘Roos to a 2-0 week, with wins over Hendrix and Ozarks, averaging 2.5 blocks per game and 7.0 rebounds, including 4.5 defensive rebounds a night. Matthews had two blocks against Hendrix and three more against Ozarks, and seven of her nine boards in the win over the Eagles came on the defensive glass.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Natalya Senat of Centenary lifted the Ladies to a 1-1 week, including a key home win over Concordia in SCAC play on Friday. Senat averaged 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 on the defensive glass, and produced 1.5 steals per game, including two in the win over the Tornados. Senior post Samantha Ising of Concordia (Tex.) continued to be a presence in the block recording four blocks, grabbing seven defensive rebounds and piled up three steals in a close loss on the road at Centenary last week. It marked the third time this season, Ising has recorded four or more blocks in a single game. Junior forward Riley Brady of Hendrix averaged 11.0 points and 22.5 rebounds per game in the Warriors' mid-week split versus Austin College and Dallas. She grabbed 16 boards against the 'Roos on Wednesday night and then followed that up with 29 rebounds versus Dallas. The 29 rebounds ranks tied for second all-time in the SCAC for single-game rebounds after setting the record earlier this season with 31. Her 20 defensive boards versus Dallas also set a new program record and established a new career-high for the junior. Senior guard Kylie Weeks of LeTourneau tallied six steals, seven rebounds, and one block to go with 18 points and two assists in a loss to Texas Lutheran. The SCAC leader in steals, Weeks tallied six for the fourth time this season. Senior guard Amyia Bowie of St. Thomas racked up three defensive rebounds and created one steal in the Celts win over Schreiner at home last Friday. Senior forward Sarahi Jones of Texas Lutheran recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, an assist, and a block in the Bulldogs road win over LeTourneau on Friday. Of her 11 rebounds, 10 were on the defensive glass, marking the fourth time this season Jones has racked up double-digit defensive rebounds in a single game.
