CALEB BALDERAS OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior kicker from Azle, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Saturday, November 8th. SCAC Football Release (Week 10)
Balderas had a perfect day in the kicking game in a 20-10 win at Centenary, drilling both of his field goals and each of his point after attempts. On the field goals, Balderas connected from 29 and 24 yards in the win.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year kicker/punter Ty Wroten of Centenary punted six times for the Gents on Saturday night against Austin College, averaging 37.7 yards with a long of 56 and landed one inside the 20. Sophomore linebacker Cooper Barnard of McMurry had a forced fumble on a punt, a 42-yard kickoff return, and also posted two tackles on special teams plays. Sophomore kicker A'Jean Augustine of Texas Lutheran was perfect for the Bulldogs with a pair of field goals and five PATs Saturday in a win over Lyon. Augustine had a career-long 41-yard field goal in the contest, besting his previous mark of 35 yards.
