WACO, Texas -- The seventh-seed Austin College Kangaroos opened play at the Southern College Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship with a 4-0 first round victory over the No. 10-seed Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs Thursday Morning at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center on the campus of Baylor University.

The 'Roos opened the match with a 1-0 doubles lead as the duo of Karsyn Clouse and Lauren Hofeldt won via walkover at No. 3 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Bailey Standokes and Emma Davidson of Austin College (AC) def. Serenity Cabrera and Lucero Alvarado (TLU) 6-1.
In singles play, Hofeldt won via walkover at No. 6 singles. In No. 4 singles, Davidson recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win over Texas Lutheran's Cabrera. A 6-0, 6-0 straight sets victory from Austin College's Natalie Valle at fifth-singles over Mercedes Tirado clinched the 5-0 match victory for the Kangaroos.
The 'Roos improved to 6-8 on the season. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs finish the season with a 3-9 mark.
