Kovacs earned All-Tournament honors at the 1st Responders Classic at UST as she totaled 76 digs over three matches, averaging 6.33 digs per set. She eclipsed 27 or more digs in two of three matches with a weekend high of 30 against Minn.-Morris while adding 28 assists over the weekend.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
First-year outside hitter/defensive specialist Destiny Labbe of Centenary posted 21 digs over four matches along with 21 kills and a pair of aces for the Ladies. Junior libero Meghan Gannon of Colorado College led the Tigers with 57 digs over three matches, including a season-high 20 in a five-set win over #13 UW-Platteville, as the Tigers went 2-1 at the Carthage Invite. Gannon averaged 5.18 digs per set and added eight assists. Junior libero Maddy Hirneise of LeTourneau earned All-Tournament honors at the Mary Hardin-Baylor tournament totaling 56 digs over four matches and averaging 4.31 digs per set. Her top performance came against the host with 17 digs and an ace against Mary Hardin-Baylor. Sophomore defensive specialist/libero Jalie Miller of McMurry compiled 49 digs over four matches for the War Hawks over a 3-1 week. Miller posted 16 digs in a win over Dallas in non-conference action. First-year outside hitter Emerson Corbin of University of the Ozarks (Ark.) recorded 10 digs against Williams Baptist while adding nine kills. Junior libero/defensive specialist Carly Lange of University of St. Thomas (Tex.) totaled 63 digs over three matches averaging 5.25 per set. She led the team with 27 digs in the Celts first loss of the season, a five-set match against Southwestern (Tex.). Senior libero/defensive specialist Richelle Guerra of Texas Lutheran totaled 53 digs over three matches for the Bulldogs, averaging 5.30 per set. The Bulldogs earned a win against LaGrange in straight sets and faced a pair of top-25 teams in #6 Emory and #21 Berry.
