LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three of the league's seven men's teams were in action this week, with Dallas and Trinity competing in the Rhodes College Spring Classic.
Dallas finished second out of sixteen teams at the Rhodes College Spring Classic at the Windyke Country Club for its best finish of the season with an 858. UD as a team set a low three round record after scoring that mark. Emilio Montalvo set a school record low third round score of 210, after carding a 71 on the day. Montalvo shot -6 for the tournament to finish in fourth place. Robby Evans carded a 72 on the day to finish it a tie for seventh with a 213 (72, 69, 72).
Trinity finished in eighth place, wrapping up the event with its best score of the week with a combined 287 to finish with a 878 three-round total. The Tigers rose from ninth on Monday and finished just six strokes behind the seventh place and 17th-ranked host Rhodes (TN) College. DJ Springer carded a 1-over-par 73 and completed the event at 1-over 217 in a tie for 19th place. The first-year finished in a tie for third in pars with 39 on his card.
Johnson & Wales junior James Shalhoup paced the Wildcats with a round of 79 (+7) on Saturday at the Wisconsin Lutheran Spring Invitational. J&W shot a team score of 326 (+38) to finish 11th in the 15 team field. Shalhoup's score was his third-best this season as a Wildcat and placed him in a tie for 35th.
The entire league assembles in Blanco, Texas on Monday and Tuesday, April 22-23 for the SCAC Men's and Women's Golf Championship which will be contested at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club. Click here for the official championships website.
