Southwestern's Mary Cardone Honored as SCAC Women's Soccer Elite 19 Award Winner

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- In a announcement made at Saturday's conference championship, Southwestern University's Mary Cardone was named the 2018 SCAC Women's Soccer Elite 19 award winner.

Cardone, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, currently holds a 3.85 GPA and earned First Team All-SCAC goalkeeper honors in an announcement made earlier this week by the league office.

The SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA, at least 60 credit hours and earns All-SCAC honors for that particular season. A student-athlete will be honored annually from each of the league's 19 conference-sponsored sports and will be recognized at the site at that year's conference championship event.

This is the inaugural year of the SCAC Elite 19 award.
