LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The 2017-18 SCAC men's basketball season tipped off on Wednesday with the league posting a cumulative 8-10 mark in the opening week of action.
Colorado College got off to a strong start, going 2-0 at the UW-Stout Tip Off Tournament. The Tigers earned a strong defensive win over UW-Superior on Friday, defeating the Yellowjackets 60-48. CC followed that up with an overtime win over the tournament's host, UW-Stout.
Centenary fell in the opening contest, but rebounded with a pair of wins at the SCAC/SAA Challenge. The Gents defeated Millsaps College and Hendrix College in the tournament hosted by Austin College. The 'Roos went 1-1 against the same teams, defeating Hendrix in their lone win.
In their only contest this week, the University of Dallas Crusaders took down Millsaps College 73-68.
Southwestern University and Trinity University each picked up one win in the opening week, with the Pirates defeating Hardin-Simmons University and the Tigers taking down Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
