LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference was represented by three players on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week after strong performances to in and out of league play last week.
Both of the conference's athlete of the week selections, Chase Almaguer of Austin College and Michael Goodrich of Trinity University earned spots on the team, as well as Nathan Patton of the University of Dallas.
Goodrich, a sophomore catcher, led Trinity to a 4-0 week, going 6-for-11 (.545) at the plate in his three games, with all of his hits coming during the two conference games he played. In those games, Goodrich scored six runs and drove in eight, while tallying a double and three home runs to post a 1.455 slugging percentage. Defensively, he had an errorless performance and threw out the only stolen base attempted while he was behind the plate.
Patton, a sophomore third baseman, reached double figures for hits (10) with a double, two home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored. His slash line was an impressive .556/.556/.944.
Almaguer, a senior pitcher, tossed a no-hitter against Blackburn to improve to 3-0 on the year, as the 'Roos rolled past the Beavers 12-1 in his lone start of the week. Almaguer allowed one unearned run after a baserunner reached on an error, but blanked the Beavers otherwise with three strikeouts and only two walks.
