Chloe Weathers, University of the Ozarks, Runner of the Week (Week 1)

CHLOE WEATHERS OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, a senior from Clarksville, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 1)

Weathers was the top Division III finisher at the Memphis Twilight finished 36th with a 19:14.39 in the 5k. Weathers helped the Eagles to a top-10 finish as a team.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Liliana Lutz of Concordia (Tex.) led the way for the Tornados at the Stormy Seas Opener with a time of 21:53.46 in the 5k. First-year Avery Garrity of Dallas placed 19th at the Stormy Seas Opener with a 20:17.64 in the 5k. Garrity was the seventh Division III finisher across the line and third-best Division III freshman. Senior Alayna Galloway of LeTourneau led the YellowJackets at the Lumberjack Invitational finished 25th with a two-mile time of 13:15. Sophomore McKenna Emerson of Schreiner led the Mountaineers at the Stomy Seas Opener with a 5k time of 22:21. Junior Alejandra Ramon of University of St. Thomas set a new school record in the 5k finishing 11th overall at the Stormy Seas Opener with a time of 19:25. Ramon helped the Celts to a 9th place finish at the meet. Junior Mackenzie Combs of Texas Lutheran finished 10th individually and was the top division III runner at the Stormy Seas Opener. Her 5k time of 19:24 was also a personal best for the junior as she helped the Bulldogs to a 7th place finish as a team.
